Just because you blew over the limit doesn’t mean that you’re guilty of DUI. If you hire a lawyer, that lawyer’s able to look at how the machine was calibrated, how the machine was tested, the proper procedures of before the breath test, the officer’s supposed to observe you for a 20-minute observation period to make sure that you don’t put anything in your mouth, that the procedures are done properly, so just because then you blew over the legal limit doesn’t mean that that number is going to be admissible in court and going to be able to use against you, and it’s your lawyer’s job to make sure that that number never gets in front of a judge or a jury.
